This artwork was created instinctively, the work evolved layer by layer without plan, guided by feeling rather than outcome. Red wine was poured directly onto the surface, staining it like memory. It carries the symbolism of deep emotions of release and the vulnerability of lived experience.
Beach twigs and seaweed form a chaotic inner structure, fragments gathered and shaped by tide and time. They speak to resilience and unpredictability. Nothing in nature grows in straight lines.
Pearlescent oyster shells and broken spiral fragments are embedded throughout the centre.
Gold paint surrounds and is scattered across the canvas, not as decoration, but as reverence.
Even in breaking, there is value. Even in surrender, there is divinity. The drips falling from the central form feel deliberate and uncontrollable at once, like grief leaving the body. Like something once contained finally allowed to run. This piece embodies the physical act of letting go.
No symmetry. No correction. No overthinking.
